November means Open Studios to us, and we are all about celebrating this wonderful program we created with you. We want you to get as excited as we are about the Open Studios tour happening Saturday, Nov. 12 and Sunday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year’s free self-guided tour includes 50 new and returning artists willing to throw open their studio doors just for you to have the chance to experience the process and inspiration behind created works. It’s a great way to spend a weekend.

You will find inspiration, connect with others, and learn first-hand about painting techniques, printmaking, sculpture, glass, ceramic, jewelry, fiber arts, and photography.

Join us for the Preview Exhibit and Reception

The artists’ studios are located throughout Clark County. This is why attending the Preview Exhibit and Artists Reception Friday, Nov. 4 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Esther Short Building (610 Esther Street, Vancouver) is a great way to get a sample taste of what to expect on the tour and plan a route. Free guidebooks will be available for this purpose. The Preview Exhibit, also part of First Friday Art Walk, is a fun way to connect with artists and the community before the official Open Studios tour weekend. And, if you purchase art at the preview, a portion of proceeds will go to Arts of Clark County to help support the Open Studios program. For your listening pleasure, expect music from artist Chris Bidleman’s Upfront Band. Trusty Brewery will also be on hand pouring tastes of their award-winning brews.

This year, along with the Preview Exhibit, free printed guides are available before the event at sponsors’ business locations and other sites in Vancouver. You can view or print your own guide and access a custom Google map showing studio locations and suggested routes online. This year also features bold new Open Studios signs to help lead the way during the event weekend. To learn more about each artist and get a list of guide book locations visit ccopenstudios.org.
