About Arts of Clark County
The Arts of Clark County (AOCC) was founded in 2010 to encourage and enhance cultural and artistic expression, which we see as an integral part of our community. The Arts contributes to Clark County's unique character, identity, and image as a desirable place to live, work and visit. The AOCC Board is comprised of volunteers hailing from all parts of the county, and the AOCC promotes all forms of art and supports all art groups. It sees its purpose as:
- To provide leadership in promoting awareness of the arts as a vital part of our cultural heritage and our contemporary lives.
- To develop the cultural climate, enhance the county's image, and support the growth of the local economy through the arts.
- To expand the opportunity and accessibility for residents of all ages to experience art in public places and to create a more visually pleasing and humane environment.
- To support successful collaborations among arts patrons, artists , the business community, service groups, schools, cultural groups, and government staff for fostering more effective use of resources and talents.
- To act as a portal for civic groups and individuals for the purpose of sharing information and resources.
- To support local artists and arts groups in applying for grants and other sources of funds.
- To celebrate the diverse creative talents and skills found among our residents and emphasize their accomplishments in the interest of improving the quality of life in Clark County.
We encourage you to join us in supporting the Arts in Southwest Washington by donating to, participating in, and volunteering at art events. To find out more about arts groups in the area visit our "Links" page; to get involved, visit our "Get Involved" page. |
